US Visa Processing Time

An appointment for the visa interview must first be made. Persons under the age of seven and those over 80 are exempt from this interview.
After the visa interview comes the OFC interview. However, renewal candidates are exempt from scheduling this meeting. Candidates who qualify for the interview waiver program are not required to set up either of these two interviews.
Admin tasks are finished within 60 days after the interview date. Therefore, it is advised that applicants apply at least three months before the departure date.

How to Prepare for a Visa Interview
The applicant for the visa must bring all required original or certified copies of civil documents to the visa interview. The visa application process may be delayed or rejected if the required documents are not presented at the interview.
For the interview, you must provide the following paperwork:

Each applicant must have a current and valid passport for at least six months after the expected entrance into the United States.
Two identical color photographs of each candidate that comply with the general photograph requirements are required.

What if You Fail to Attend the Visa Interview
If you cannot attend your scheduled interview, get in touch with the American Embassy or Consulate as soon as possible. Your case may be terminated, your immigrant visa petition may be canceled, and any costs paid will only be returned if you get in touch with the US Embassy or Consulate within a year of receiving your interview appointment letter.
